What is Culture Day?
Culture Day is an annual event at Manchester Academy where staff and students are invited to wear traditional dress from a country of their choice. The day is packed full of music, food, and fun! Everyone is welcome to celebrate, with special prizes for our best-dressed students.
The Day’s Events
Our brilliant team have worked hard to ensure this year’s Culture Day is as vibrant and unique as the school it takes place in. Here’s what happened:
Principal Mr. Eldon said: “We are incredibly proud of the diversity that plays such a huge part in Making Manchester Magic, and Culture Day is one of my favourite days of the school calendar. I’d like to thank students and staff for embracing it and making this another unforgettable experience.”
Highlight Of the Day
One of the highlights of the day was the Flash Mob Dance, where staff surprised our students during their lunch period with a Greek dance performance.
Vice Principal (and Lead Dancer!) Mrs McMullen said: “The day has been a huge success. Admittedly, I was a little nervous about the surprise performance, but the students loved it! I have looked forward to this day all year!”
Making Manchester Magic
Manchester Academy’s Culture Day is linked to the Rights Respecting Schools Award. We are raising money for UNICEF Charities, alongside our Academy Charities, including Cancer Research and Alzheimer’s. Our staff and students have had fun and for a good cause, while celebrating what makes us Magic!
