Our Music curriculum aims to inspire critical thought, resilience, commitment and creativity in all of our students. The cornerstone of being a successful musician is built on these four qualities and is driven by a team with decades of industry experience. Music can be about finding a pathway to a future career or just a love for the subject – both are developed through a passionate place of understanding for the subject and what is necessary to succeed in Music or any other discipline. Music is designed as a spiral curriculum, which builds on skills and disciplines for a set of instruments, year on year.

Students learn about instrumental technique, song structure, musicianship and industry roles. All students will understand the discipline of musicians, differing genres of music and how to create their own music from several different real-life scenarios, including Jingle writing and drumbeats. There is also a wider entertainment and creative industry thread weaved throughout, to introduce students to new and exciting careers.
