In Religious Education, we explore the beliefs and practices of many of the world’s major religions. Students consider how religion influences the way some people live their lives as well as the impact it can have on others. They examine sacred writings in detail, making them experts at critically analysing texts and at contemplating how interpretations may vary.

We empower students with the knowledge of key historical, political, and religious events so they are informed citizens. They debate global affairs and we encourage them to formulate their own judgements on many of the ethical issues we still face today. As well as acknowledging the views of others, students are offered time to self-reflect and challenge any misconceptions they may have. We understand the importance of preparing students for the wider world, in all its richness, and so our core aim is to instil tolerance and understanding whilst providing a platform for them to nurture their own moral, cultural and spiritual growth.
