Our Principal Mr Eldon was among a group of invited guests who joined Prince William during his visit to Moss Side yesterday.
The prince was here to find out more about how the Manchester Peace Together Alliance is empowering young people, and how businesses and schools can work together – as part of a new employment, skills and training initiative.
Mr Eldon spoke to the prince about Manchester Academy’s transformational journey and he outlined the complexity of our students, with our diverse mix of 120 languages spoken in school.
He said the prince was very impressed and replied “wow” when he heard about the amazing work we are doing to support our students and be part of the wider community.
The prince was also joined by the Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham, Leader of Manchester City Council, Councillor Bev Craig and Deputy Mayor of Greater Manchester Kate Green at the Hideaway Youth Project.
Prince William said he hoped Manchester would build a template of youth work which could be rolled out across the country.
We were very proud to be a part of it!
