Art: Year 10

Textiles Workshop

Bella May Leonard, an Artist in Residence from the Whitworth Art Gallery was invited to the school to do a workshop with my GCSE Year 10 class. The theme of the project was ‘Urban decay’.

The students created sculptures by weaving plastic sheeting used in building work, acetate, photographs and printed images of Manchester into wire mesh. The workshop was a brilliant opportunity for students to work with a working artist and they produce some interesting responses.
