Author, Dave Cryer Visits Manchester Academy

Published on 16 February 2012

Manchester Academy welcomed the writer, teacher and workshop leader, Dave Cryer on Tuesday, 7th February.

He spent the whole day working with various groups of Year 7, Year 8 and Year 9 students. Dave’s visit went very well with staff and students enjoying his presentation as much as he enjoyed his interaction with them.

Dave introduced the books he brought, set off a drama practice, and then invited volunteers (students and teachers) to perform, bringing the books to life with the help of short scripts he had prepared for them. At the end of the sessions the students rushed to the library to borrow or reserve those books!

It was a good day for PROMOTING READING at Manchester Academy.

Thank you to all the staff who helped prepare for this event and also the students who participated.
