Bringing Stories to Life on World Book Day

Manchester Academy Students Celebrate the Magic that Books Bring into our Lives

World Book Day 2025 was a magical celebration filled with fun, laughter, and love for reading. The school was buzzing with excitement in the morning as teachers arrived dressed like their favourite storybook characters!

From Harry Potter to Alice in Wonderland, the costumes sparked conversation. Students were thrilled to learn about their teachers’ favourite stories and share their own!

Getting to Know our Magic Library

One of the highlights of the day was the breaktime activities in the school library. Students got stuck in and enjoyed:

·        Working together to complete a literacy themed quiz

·        Designing their own book cover

·        Finding hidden stories around the school

The literacy quiz was designed to help students familiarise themselves with the school library and discover books they might have missed! School librarian, Ms Selmane said: “It was fantastic to see so many students getting involved and enjoying reading in a new and exciting way!”

Let Your Love of Reading Grow

To encourage their love of reading, every student received a World Book Day voucher to choose a free book of their choice. Seeing the excitement on the students faces was a reminder of why reading matters!

At Manchester Academy, we believe learning should be fun and World Book Day was the perfect way to celebrate the joy of reading.
