Manchester Academy has seen an incredible rise up the school league tables in Manchester, based on the most recent GCSE results
Manchester Academy's Progress 8 score of 0.3 puts the school significantly higher than the average score across the region of 0.07 and even better across the rest of the country (-0.03).
On the Department for Education’s website, it says: “Pupils here achieve up to half a grade higher in each qualification on average, compared to similar pupils across the country.”
The news continues an unforgettable two years for Manchester Academy, which has seen the school recognised nationally at the Tes Awards, while also winning at the National Association for Pastoral Care in Education Awards.
Manchester Academy is described in the Manchester Evening News as “rewriting the story of Moss Side" after winning the Communications Award at the Educate Awards, which covers schools across the whole of the North West.
Principal Mr Eldon said: “I am so proud of our performance as a school, which sees us officially recognised as one of the most improved schools in the city. We are incredibly lucky to serve one of the most vibrant neighbourhoods in Manchester at the heart of the Oxford Road corridor and this achievement wouldn’t be possible without the incredible partnership we have with our community.”
