We’re very proud to be shortlisted as a finalist in the 2023 Educate Awards for the Communication Award.
At Manchester Academy, we take an innovative and proactive approach to communications using the full spectrum of media channels available, from social media and our school mobile app to our comprehensive school website and our regular parental newsletters and termly newsletters which are distributed to our feeder primary schools and the wider community.
Manchester Academy focuses on tailoring each message to the needs of its audience – whether that’s snappy engaging videos or interesting photos or translated messages which cater to our large EAL demographic.
Our staff pull out all the stops to make sure that both students and their families have all the information they need in school.
We are very proactive to make sure our important messages home to Parents/Carers are also translated into our main three languages of Arabic, Somali and Urdu – three languages that are prevalent among the families of our student population - and we have continued this approach with key sections of our website and prospectus - to support our wider communication strategy and ensure that any language barriers are overcome.
This strategy has benefited the school in terms of student intake – our admissions have increased by more than 350 over the past five years.
We are now among 75 entries from nearly 60 schools and college from across the north west who have made the prestigious shortlist. We will find out if we have been successful on Friday 17 November at a glittering Educate Awards ceremony held at the Liverpool Cathedral.
The event, which is in partnership with ASL Group and Ricoh, is the largest education awards of its kind. The finest schools, colleges, leadership teams, teachers and support staff across Merseyside, Cheshire, Lancashire and Greater Manchester come together to celebrate their achievements at the annual event.
