Year 7 Welcome Day: Rolling Out the Red Carpet

Our new students had their first experience of life at Manchester Academy

What Happened?

Our amazing Transition Team worked hard to create a day of activities, designed to support our new students with:

  • ·        Making new friends
  • ·        Becoming familiar with the building
  • ·        Getting to know the school values

These activities also helped students understand how their lessons would be structured, from sports to art, maths, and games. Their day was action packed.

Highlight Of the Day

One of the highlights of the day was the treasure hunt. Students were challenged to race around the school, answering questions to help their search for tasty treats. Staff members also got stuck in with the search, interacting with the students throughout their hunt.

One student said: “The school is a very nice, loving, welcoming, and safe place.”

A Successful Day

We’re excited to welcome all our new starters this September! Today has been a brilliant first impression and we hope to see each student again for our Transition Day in July.

Head of Transition, Mrs Maybury said: “Easter School has been the perfect introduction for our new students. All the staff were impressed by their positivity and determination throughout the activities. Today has been a fantastic experience for everyone, we can’t wait to get to know the students even better over the coming months.”
