Manchester Academy Raise Funds for The Christie

Published on 17 October 2012

As part of the Giving Nations Challenge, a programme where young people learn about charities, social enterprise and individual giving, Manchester Academy students chose to work with The Christie charity.

We chose to support this charity because they are leading experts in local cancer care, research and education for over 100 years in and around Manchester and remain committed to helping all those affected by cancer, both now and in the future.

In June and July this year, a group of Year 8 students (now in Year 9 at the time this article was published) were involved in various fund raising activities including:

  • A sponsored run
  • Guess the number of sweets in the jar
  • Car washing
  • Form collections

Congratulations to all the students who helped raise the money:

Many thanks to everyone for their support.
