Pea Fayre

Published on 19 December 2011

On Thursday, 15th December, the 7L class held a Pea Fayre where their parents and guardians were also invited to attend.

'What is a Pea Fayre? I hear you ask'.

Well, a Pea Fayre is a good behaviour reward system, used in the 7L class to reinforce the school’s behaviour system. Students are given a chickpea for good effort and achievement and each chickpea is worth two merits.

All the chickpeas given in one lesson are put into a jar and when the jar is full, the students are rewarded with a Pea Fayre.

The students proceeded to set up their own stalls based on the students’ skills and talents which included origami, henna mehndi patterns, magic, and a café. The activities were paid for in chickpeas:

  • each activity was worth five peas; and
  • everyone was given a bag with 30 peas to use at the stalls of their choice;

Many thank all the parents as well as the staff who came and supported the Pea Fayre. The students really enjoyed seeing you all there!
