Students at the Labour Party Conference

On Tuesday, 23rd September, a group of Year 11 students took part in a special audience debate featuring guests attending the Labour Party Conference in Manchester.

The event was a live radio broadcast event on BBC 5 Live, presented by Stephen Nolan at the Royal Exchange Theatre.

The following Year 11 students took part:

Guests on the show included:

Discussions were around:

  • Votes for 16/17 year olds
  • Zero hour contracts
  • State of the economy
  • Welfare and benefits
  • Education, AS Levels
  • University tuition fees
  • National Health and ‘Social Care’ service

The students found the debate interesting and intriguing and managed to get some questions in concerning votes for teenagers and stated the reasons why.
