Having read about our Employability programme in a European Commission report, they were keen to experience the programme first hand.
During their visit, the delegation met staff and students and engaged enthusiastically with our young people from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5. They discussed our vision and ethos with the Executive Principal and Senior Partner, Dr Edkins and were impressed with our innovative programmes.
Our guests also spent time with several of our business partners including Manchester Camerata, Pinsent Masons and Manchester Metropolitan University. The Swedish team will be taking this concept of employer engagement back to Sweden to trial there.
A visit to one of our partner primary schools, St Mary's C of E Primary School in Moss Side, exemplified how employability can be embedded successfully in Key Stages 1 and 2. We are pleased to say that we are now in the process of formalising a partnership with our Swedish colleagues.
Programmes that will be developed include sharing employability programmes, working with international new arrivals and partnering sports departments.
