Manchester Academy wins Education Business Award

Manchester Academy picked up the ‘Academy Partnership Award’ at the Education Business Awards in London on 19th November 2009. The award was in recognition of the academy’s ‘outstanding’ partnerships with other schools, local business and other community groups.

Black History Month

As part of Black History Month, the Black Health Agency [BHA] launched a competition to inspire students across Manchester to explore their identities. Students were asked to complete the sentence ‘Being Black is…’ to express what the phrase means to them.

Moss Side Stories Exhibition: The Link Gallery, MMU: July 7-17

Moss Side Stories is a multimedia exhibition project that enables the pupils of Manchester Academy to explore their own life stories in the form of poetry, prose, painting and video art.

And in a school with 63 languages spoken and pupils from across the world, the stories are memorable, moving and often inspirational.
