On Monday, 17^th December, 2012, Manchester Academy held the NSPCC Number Day again which involved students participating in a fun Maths Number quiz as well as fundraising for the NSPCC.

The Story So Far...

Earlier this term, a small design project within selected Art classes was run as an after school activity.

On Thursday, 13^th December, Manchester Academy welcomed back Father Christmas on his brief stopover before he visited the local hospitals.

The Indus Entrepreneurs, Young Entrepreneurs Global Programme was launched at Manchester Academy in November. Manchester Academy was chosen by TiE to be one of the 2 schools representing England.

The Year 9 students have been busy this term. Below is a selection of some of their excellent ‘Still Life’ artwork.

Year 11 students battled it out to present the perfect pitch to 4 North West entrepreneurs.

Twelve students were chosen to go forward to take part in a global competition organised by The Indus Entrepreneurs.

On Tuesday, 13^th November, the Manchester Academy under 16 basketball team notched up their first win of the season with an emphatic win over Loreto College 46-32.

After a successful first year of collaboration with the Whitworth Art Gallery, a new group of entrepreneurs have taken up the baton of ‘Fresh Made Trade’ and have begun their challenge to create a product for the shop at the Gallery and Art Museum.
