During the week of the 15^th – 19^th December, 2014,  the Employability team worked hard to organise sessions and house tutor activities for students throughout the school.

The Employability Team are organising sessions (and house tutor activities) for students throughout the school, based on one of the fastest growing industry sectors in Manchester – the Creative Digital and Media sector. This is the first sector of three that we will be focusing on throughout the academic year.

 

On Tuesday, 23^rd September, a group of Year 11 students took part in a special audience debate featuring guests attending the Labour Party Conference in Manchester.

 

As part of Blue Peter’s ‘Grow it, Cook it, Eat it’ segment, six Year 7 students from Manchester Academy went live on national television on Thursday 13^th June 2013.

 

How can studying science, engineering or maths lead to a job at BBC Sport? It’s simpler than you might think, as 40 school pupils aged 14 to 16 recently found out when they took part in the BBC Academy’s third Young Technologists day.

You will have seen on the news this week that parts of the country have already been hit with significant falls of snow which have affected traffic and services. Last Year we had to close the school for the first time in its history due to bad weather.

 

Students from Manchester Academy have picked up the prestigious Apax – Mosaic Enterprise Challenge 2009/10 Award, in recognition of their business and entrepreneurial skills.
