The last week of summer saw Year 9 take part in a highly motivational workshop focusing on developing the right skills to get ahead in the world of work. Lead by Michelle Whaite of the Transformation Trust, on behalf of Barclays, the workshop quickly engaged the students. 

Friday, 14^th July saw the culmination of Engineering Action Week at ARUP’s Manchester HQ at Piccadilly Place. 

Manchester Academy learners learn wisdom from the ancients and in the process, develop employability skills! 

A group of this year’s Year 11 leavers returned to Manchester Academy this week to get an insight into a unique programme aimed at getting young people into accountancy. 

Manchester Academy’s collaboration with Dr Stephanie Koerner paid dividends this week when learners paid a visit to the University of Manchester’s Archaeology laboratory to investigate ancient artefacts. 

A high-flying group of Year 7 students had the opportunity to sample higher education by taking part in The University of Manchester Gateways Programme.

The Employability Team are organising sessions (and house tutor activities) for students throughout the school, based on one of the fastest growing industry sectors in Manchester – the Creative Digital and Media sector. This is the first sector of three that we will be focusing on throughout the academic year.
