On 17th December, eight girls from 11a/Ma1 class participated in the Year 11 Mathematics Enrichment: ‘Taking Maths Further’ at the University of Manchester.
On Monday, 17th December, 2012, Manchester Academy held the NSPCC Number Day again which involved students participating in a fun Maths Number quiz as well as fundraising for the NSPCC.
On Wednesday 17th October, students from Year 10 and 11 attended The University of Manchester STAR Lecture: Materials and Nuclear Energy delivered by the Director of Dalton Nuclear Institute, Professor Andrew Sherry.
On Friday, 19th October, Year 11 students participated in a Royal Air Force Maths Challenge which was held in the new Armed Forces Recruit and Selection Centre in Aintree, Liverpool.
On Wednesday, 1st February, 20 students from 8U visited The University of Manchester along with students from William Hulme's Grammar School and The Manchester Grammar School.
