In early October 2013, we were delighted to welcome a delegation of Swedish educationalists visiting Manchester.

Manchester Academy has always attended Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) events such as campus tours and ‘getting to know the university’ days. These continue today.

Sector Drops Weeks aim to give all students an insight into the career pathways available within particular sectors such as construction or medicine. This term the team focussed on Engineering.

Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) and Manchester Academy have worked with Webster Primary School on a long term Transition project.

A group of Year 7 pupils were selected to be part of the Mother Tongue, Other Tongue writing competition led by the Poet Laureate and Director of the Manchester Writing School at MMU, Carol Ann Duffy. 

On Thursday March 4^th Manchester Academy celebrated World Book Day.

This short story written by one student and told here by another, recently showcased at the Moss Side Stories exhibition at Manchester Metropolitan University.

Moss Side Stories is a multimedia exhibition project that enables the pupils of Manchester Academy to explore their own life stories in the form of poetry, prose, painting and video art.

And in a school with 63 languages spoken and pupils from across the world, the stories are memorable, moving and often inspirational.
