The students started out at Moss Side Fire station where Green Watch put them through their paces. Green Watch refers to a designated shift of fire-fighters at a station. In most UK fire services the ‘watches’ tend to be blue, red, white and green.
The students then travelled to Leigh (GMFRS Technical Services) where the students experienced the technical support area of the fire service.
Finally the students ended up in Swinton (GMFRS headquarters) where they were briefed by control staff. They also sat with controllers and experienced live 999 calls. All in all, a great experience for our students.
