This enrichment event was organised by the Further Mathematics Support Programme (FMSP) and the University of Manchester which was designed to encourage able female students to consider studying Mathematics and Further Mathematics in Higher/Further Education.
The girls were involved in a series of workshops and mathematical puzzles presented by leading Mathematics presenters. These activities helped to capture their imagination and raised their aspirations in considering to study mathematical courses at A-Level and beyond.
Our students had an opportunity to work collaboratively with students from other schools on challenging mathematical problems. This helped them to gain invaluable team working skills through sharing of ideas and strategies of solving maths problems. Our students were well behaved, worked very hard and presented the Academy positively.
