Year 9 ‘People's History Museum’ Visit

Published on 17 November 2014

On Friday 14th November, a group of Year 9 students (9A1) students visited the People's History Museum.

The students took part in a drama workshop at the People's History Museum to learn about the experience of soldiers and conscientious objectors. All the students were perfectly behaved and the staff at the museum commented on what intelligent and thought-provoking questions and ideas they shared.

Ratil Habibullah, Faiza Omar, Layek Sheikh, Prevish Huma and Alvin Munhenga all read poetry and letters as part of the performance. There was also some excellent improvised role-play. Sherwan Abdi, Tariz Baig, Amal Mohamed and Adam Mustafa also provided really interesting contributions to the discussions.

The professional actor at the workshop commented on their excellent skills as performers. The students said they had a great time and really enjoyed the opportunity to explore their World War 1 topic in this way.
