Manchester Academy Students are Encouraged to Pursue their Dreams in National Career's Week and Beyond!
National Careers Week is an annual event designed to help students explore career opportunities and understand the steps needed to achieve their goals. At Manchester Academy, we celebrated with a week full of engaging activities, guest speakers, and real-world experiences to inspire our students.
Exploring Careers in Form-Time
Each morning, Year 9 and 10 students took part in a virtual career fair, where they explored different professions, discussed career paths, and learned what qualifications and skills are needed for success. These sessions helped students think about their futures and explore careers they may not have considered before.
Exciting Assemblies and Real-Life Experiences
Throughout the week, students attended career-themed assemblies led by staff and guest speakers, sharing insights into different industries and career journeys. Year 10 students also took part in practice interviews, giving them valuable experience in real-world interview situations.
For Year 9 students, the week was especially important as they attended taster sessions to help them decide on their GCSE options. This gave them the chance to experience different subjects before making their final choices.
Special Guest Speakers and Trips
One of the highlights of the week was a visit from Auto Trader, where Year 7 girls learned about women in the automotive industry. The session was inspiring, showing students that there are exciting career opportunities for everyone.
Another standout moment was a trip to Richer Sounds, where students got an exclusive look into the world of home entertainment retail. They toured the site, met staff in different job roles, and even helped label parcels!
