Welcome Day 2025: An Exciting New Beginning

A Warm Academy Welcome to the Next Cohort of Year 7 Students

During the spring half-term, Manchester Academy proudly opened its doors to Year 6 students who have secured a place for September 2025. The Welcome Day gave them a chance to experience life at the Academy, make new friends, and build confidence before they officially join.

Starting the Day with Smiles

The day began with a warm welcome from staff. Head of Year 7, Ms. Maybury said: “This is one of my favourite days. We get to meet our new students and build connections before their first day! From the start of the day to the end, it was lovely to watch their confidence and friendships grow.”

The Year 6 students arrived excited and it wasn’t long before they were chatting, laughing, and getting stuck into the activities.

A Day Full of Fun and Discovery

The students were split into groups and spent the day rotating through a range of fun and engaging sessions:

  • In the sports hall, students worked together in team-building games, boosting communication and confidence
  • In the art room, they had a chance to get creative and show off their talents.
  • A big favourite was the Academy Hunt, where students raced around the school solving clues. This fun activity helped them learn their way around the building while working as a team. The winning group walked away with a special chocolate prize!

Building Confidence Before September

As the day came to an end, it was hard to believe many of these students had only just met. Smiles, high-fives, and goodbyes filled the room as they left feeling excited, confident, and ready to start their journey at Manchester Academy.

We can’t wait to welcome them back in September and see what amazing things they’ll achieve!
