Year 11 Students Get Inspired to Make Their Future Magic

Manchester Academy Celebrates National Apprenticeship Week 2025!

At Manchester Academy, teachers strive to best prepare students for success beyond the classroom! National Apprenticeship Week is an exciting event that inspires and encourages Year 11 students to pursue their dreams!

Throughout the week, the Academy welcomed a range of guest speakers and alumni who shared their experiences and advice on apprenticeships. From engineering and healthcare to digital marketing and business. Year 11 students were inspired to consider available career pathways and learn what it takes to succeed.

Real Stories, Real Inspiration

One of the highlights of the week was hearing from former Manchester Academy student, Exose Grant. Who spoke about his experience as a professional chef working with James Martin and Hotel Football in Manchester.

Students enjoyed listening to Exose speak about his time as a contestant on Bake Off the Professionals and finalist on Masterchef. The Academy’s aspiring chefs and interested students asked important questions about what it takes to be successful!

One Year 11 student said: “I think hearing real stories from people who were once students makes me more motivated to aim for what I want to achieve.”

Building Skills and Looking to the Future

Throughout the week, lunchtime workshop sessions helped our Year 11 students build their confidence and skills when applying for colleges. The CV writing masterclass was very popular!

Students had the chance to book 1-2-1 meetings with our careers lead to discuss their plans for their future. Whether students were certain about a career path or starting to explore options, the sessions helped them feel more confident and prepared.

Keep Exploring & Stay Motivated!

We hope National Apprenticeship Week has inspired our students to dream big, stay motivated, and work hard towards their goals. Thank you to all our guest speakers, alumni, and careers team for making this week a success.

To all Year 11 students. Enjoy a rest over the February half-term but remember to study and keep working hard towards your magic future!
