Manchester Academy is Thrilled to Celebrate Another British Science Week Filled with Excitement and Experiments!
British Science Week is a nationwide celebration of science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEM), designed to spark curiosity and inspire the next generation of scientists. Staff celebrate the week with exciting lessons and hands-on activities that give students the chance to explore the wonders of science in a fun and engaging way.
British Science Week is entering its third decade in 2025 and the theme to mark the start of this new era is ‘change and adapt!’
Exciting Activities and Challenges
Throughout the week, break-time science challenges got the students thinking and working together. From chemical reactions to information puzzles, each activity tested their problem-solving skills and creativity.
After school, the brilliant science department hosted sessions where students got a hands-on experience with chemical experiments. The sessions allowed students to explore science beyond the classroom and experience what real scientists do every day.
A Trip to Connel College
A highlight of the week was a trip to Connel College, where Year 10 students watched a live science experiment. They had the chance to ask questions, interact with the hosts, and gain insight into the world of science beyond school.
British Science Week was a success, inspiring students to think big! Explore new ideas and see science in action. The Academy is proud to support students both in school and beyond, ensuring that learning is always exciting and full of possibilities!
